Sadly a few days ago my 18 year old nephew Ben passed away due to complications arising from undiagnosed diabetes. Ben's last Facebook status was an appeal to everyone he knew to help him collect up items for the homeless through his involvement with a local community group. As he didn't get to finish this work which mattered so much to him, we as a family have carried on what Ben started and my contribution included making a pile of simple beanie hats to donate, using up yarn left over from other projects and the scra...

Today on our Crafty Little Things You Tube channel we have a Granny Triangle Tutorial. It's another simple beginners level project but so versatile as it can be used to make so many things. In the video we explain briefly a few ideas and show you how to make bunting with your triangles. Just like the granny square, you can keep going with it and make a shawl or baby blanket or a shoulder blanket for cold evenings or you can join the triangles to make anything from scarves to bikini tops!

I've blogged about it over on our Paper craft blog so won't repeat myself here I'll just share a little link to that post and send you on your way, it is great though, so do go and have a look especially if you batch make cards or invitations...

Today on our Crafty Little Things You Tube channel we have a Granny Square Tutorial. It's such a simple beginners level project but so versatile as the granny square can be used to make so many things. We chose it as our first beginners project for that reason, a beginner can roll with it and keep on going and going until they've made a cushion cover or go further until they've made a blanket.

Over on our papercraft blog at and on our You Tube channel we are hosting a craft fayre extravaganza! Perhaps that's a little OTT, but we are posting a series of 7 back to back, that's one a day, easy papercraft projects perfect for a craft fayre stand/stall.

They are easy and quick to make projects which mostly use up off cuts and so are really economical and great for busting the stash if you like to have an end of year purge.

So why not pop over and check out what we're getting up to?

This gorgeous lantern is so easy to make and so cute! a GREAT project to have a go at with the kids. It can hold a battery tea light or a real tea light or even some small battery operated fairy lights and the bandage allows a really lovely glow to shine through.

All you need is an empty cleaned out jar, a bandage, some glue and googly eyes. Simply wrap the bandage around, stick on eyes, pop in a candle and you're done! It's really that easy.

In case you need to see it done though we have made a You Tube tutorial.
