Large Gift Bag Using Eastern Palace by Stampin' Up!

May 4, 2017

This gorgeous gift bag is super easy to make and has finished dimensions of 8 x 3 x 3 inches (20.3 x 7.6 x 7.6 cms). So it's a whopper and will hold all kinds of loveliness, scarves, make up brushes, lots of choc or a huge selection of tea bags to treat the tea lover in your life with.

There's a free PDF download of instructions and materials available by clicking here of how to make it and a video tutorial is being prepped right now to go onto our channel on You Tube this weekend. List of products is also included at the end of this post with some basic instructions if you don't 'do' You Tube or PDFs.

As always feel free to make this and do what you will with it but please do not copy this work and pass it off as your own, a little link back here would be welcomed and courteous in the whole spirit of community that we have in the crafting world.

You can shop now for the Eastern Palace Suite as an early release from the Stampin' Up! 2017/18 catalogue due to launch on June 1st 2017. Be quick it will only be available as one of two bundles until 31st May after that it will be purchasable as individual items.

The cardstock, ink, dies and stamps used in this tutorial are only available in the bundles so grab yours now by clicking here or you can use other Stampin' Up! supplies as in the other examples below. The top image also uses stamps from the Eastern Palace Suite combined with Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla cardstock, Pink Pirouette Ink and the Dual Banners Punch for the sentiment. I also added a butterfly die cut from the Butterflies Thinlits die set by Stampin' Up!

If you don't do PDF or You Tube then the  basics for this are:

12x12 cardstock or DSP sheet, scored at 2 and 9 on one side and 1, 3, 6 and 9 on the other. Cut away two corner pieces on each end of the 1 inch score. Cut up the two score lines on each side to make three flaps and glue together making a rectangular box shape with the top flap coming over when you pinch together the front and back to give the paper a bit of memory shaping (is that a thing??)

Add a 3/4 inch x 11 inch strip for the handle, 2 five x 3/4 inch strips for the closures and a 73/4 x 3/4 inch strip for the flap and the same again for the bottom front of the bag if you wish. Fasten with magnets or velcro and make a gift tag to tie to the handle.
