Ribbon Holders

June 11, 2017

I saw a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Amanda from Scrimpingmommy.co.uk make cute little ribbon holder booklets. They had a magnet closure and contained card 'bobbins' which ribbon can be wrapped around. The bobbins were fastened into the booklet with a ribbon threaded through and could be flicked up and down like book pages to make selection of ribbon easy.

I just loved them and had to make a heap of them to send out ribbon shares to a group of ladies who I share crafty stuff with. So I asked Amanda if she'd mind and she was happy to let me use and share her project.

Amanda's video tutorial is linked here and her blog post about this project here for you to go and see how to do it yourself. Unlike Amanda I used retired Stampin' Up! papers and ribbon from my existing stash  but the cardstock, sentiment and tag are all current Stampin' Up! products.

I also adapted the project slightly as Amanda suggested in her video to make it wider so that it held more bulk of ribbon. Instead of being a quarter inch deep mine were an inch deep and this meant that the closure flap was a little shorter than the original version.

I just love them though and think they look fab in Peekaboo Peach cardstock. I used the Label Me Pretty stamp set for the tag as well as the coordinating punch and a 1.25inch punch for the layered look.

Mine had three bobbins in them with up to two meters of ribbon wrapped around each of them but there was easily room for another couple of bobbins.

To get the holes punched right through several layers I used a Cropodile but Amanda shows you how to use a single regular hand punch to achieve the same effect.

A great cute little storage solution and a fab gift for a crafty person in your life. Why not try them yourself?

Thanks for dropping in as always. If you want to purchase any items that were used head over to Amanda's blog or video and there will be links there to get you to the right place so you can buy from Amanda's online Stampin' Up! store.
