Card Making Joy of Sets Pearl Challenge

June 30, 2017

If you use Stampin' Up! products to make cards or anything else for that matter - we all know how versatile the products are - then you may want to pop over to my Stampin' Up! colleague Fiona Whitehead's Facebook Group The Joy of Sets and join in the fun.

Here's my project which I submitted to the Pearl challenge for June. A little set of 3 x 3 notelets. Very simple yet quite elegant and they use just one stamp set, Background Bits, some Very Vanilla and Powder Pink cardstock and Berry Burst ink. There are 4 in the set and rather than make a box for them they are packaged with a cute Berry Burst belly band. All materials are linked below if you want to give them a whirl yourself. Here's a Free PDF Download of how I made them if you want the details, although they are super easy and basic.

How it works is that Fiona creates albums with the name of a current or retired Stampin' Up! stamp set which we all then fill with photos of things we've made using that stamp set and other Stampin' Up! goodies (current or retired). It's that simple. Just make your project and stick it in the correct album! The album could have been there for weeks or months (years eventually) and it doesn't matter, as long as it's there you can stick your relevant photos in there and also be inspired by all of the other fab creations in there using just that one stamp set as the basis for the project.

What is more, each month there is a monthly challenge which you will find in its own album. This month (June) the challenge was 'pearls'. So interpret that how you will.. most of us chose to add gorgeous pearl embellishments to our creations but if you had a pearl stamp or pearlised paper or are a dab hand at making paper clams then I guess you could have fulfilled the remit in a number of ways.

The group is closed so you do have to ask to join and you do have to read the pinned post with group rules which are really there to just make it easy to add and find things and so that it doesn't turn into just another random project sharing group and so that it doesn't become inundated with off topic conversations about our dogs and kids and husband's snoring.

I've been a member of the group since it was started up but have only just got around to having time to join in and I intend to do so regularly in the future. It's fun, creative, challenging and inspiring so what reason is there to not get involved? So many people have already joined and are having fun sharing. If there is stamp set you would like to see featured just let Fiona know and it will be considered for the future. There is also a sharing space to link to your social media or blog too so it's very community support and sharing orientated.

Thanks for dropping in as ever. It is much appreciated.
