Mandala Cushion

August 4, 2018

I really did enjoy making this cushion which was based on a  pattern in Big and Little Crochet book 8. The one in the book was very colourful and I decided to go with a theme that would fit my lounge better.

Now the pattern was frustrating at times just because it wasn't very clear and almost each row was different so it was pretty intense as the tutorial video shows. However, it was fun to do and it resulted in a fabulous item.

The front is complete, the back is almost complete and the whole design is hugely tactile, it already invites people to touch and get involved with it. Which is something I love to see people doing with home furnishings. They're there to be enjoyed not just to decorate a space. Besides when people are caressing something they are usually feeling comfortable and if they're feeling comfortable in my home I'm happy. Isn't that the whole point of creating  a space to welcome people into?

POST EDIT: I finished it. Here it is with a 16 inch round cushion pad.

If you're not subscribed to Big and Little and want to check them out you can so via this link and if you want to check out my tutorial video for this cushion then you can so by clicking HERE.

Thanks for dropping in. Have a great weekend.
